Professor Divjak's classes @ UniSA & UTS Australia

On Monday, 12 February 2024, Professor Blaženka Divjak was hosted by University of South Australia's (UniSA) Center for Change and Complexity in Education in Adelaide, where she gave a presentation entitled Enhancing Quality Assurance: Integrating a Learning Design Tool and Learning Analytics, attended by more than 20 UniSA’s educators and researchers. Subsequently, together with Professor Valentina Kirinić, she held a workshop on the Balanced Learning Design Planning (BDP) concept and tool (https://learning-design.eu).
On the following day, 13 February 2024, a BDP-related workshop was also held at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
At the class and the workshops, Professor Divjak stressed the interconnected and cyclic nature of learning design and learning analytics. Particularly, she explained how, on the one hand, sound learning design is one of the most important prerequisites for high-quality teaching and learning and trustworthy learning analytics. On the other hand, she noted, meaningful learning analytics can give an important basis for the upgrading of learning design. In this context, she emphasized the role of the collaborative BDP learning design tool.
Professor Divjak also presented the ongoing projects implemented by her research team at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics: iLed and TRUELA. The visits were opportunities to discuss potential areas for future research cooperation with UniSA’s and UTS’s researchers, primarily in the area of learning analytics methods, as well as competence comparison.
