Study visit by Dr Mladen Raković from Monash University in Australia

On Wednesday, 12 June 2024, Faculty of Organization and Informatics hosted Dr Mladen Rakovic, a researcher in the area of learning analytics and self-regulated learning, from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
The visit was a continuation of the cooperation with the research team of the Center for Learning Analytics at Monash, which has been developed for several years by Professor Blaženka Divjak and the members of FOI’s Learning Analytics Laboratory. In this context, Dr Rakovic is one of the Monash University’s researchers involved in the research project Trustworthy Learning Analytics and AI for Sound Learning Design (TRUELA), led by Professor Divjak, and financed by the Croatian Science Foundation.
Considering the objectives of the TRUELA project, which are related to the development of approaches and methods based on learning analytics and AI to support sound learning design, Dr Rakovic held a presentation on the use of learning analytics and AI to enhance self-regulated learning. A special focus was thereby placed on the international project FLoRA: Self-Regulated Learning with Personalized Scaffolds.
The presentation and the subsequent discussion were attended by the members of the Learning Analytics Laboratory, as well as a wider circle of interested researchers from FOI.
